Geoblocking

To protect yourself against skimming, a type of fraud in which bank card data is copied, BCGE recommends you activate the geoblocking* function on your BCGE Debit Mastercard. This function enables you to block all or part of the geographical regions where you do not want your Debit Mastercard used. Geoblocking can be set for a limited or indefinite period of time. Also, for your security, the daily limit value for Debit Mastercard usage in all countries outside Switzerland and Europe has been fixed at a maximum of CHF 3,000. This limit corresponds to the maximum daily amount for ATM withdrawals and purchase payments using a Debit Mastercard.



*The geoblocking function can be activated/disabled very easily:
• On the BCGE Netbanking platform (Cards menu), available 24/24, 7/7
• Via a secure messaging system
• At our online Bank 058 211 21 00 (monday to friday from 7.30am to 7.30pm, saturday from 9am to 4pm and sunday from 9am to 1pm)
